- Filipino Culture Night -

What is FCN?

Each year the Filipino American Association hosts our annual Filipino Culture Night (often referred to as FCN). This is our organization’s biggest event of the year, with the goals of showing our appreciation for the diverse backgrounds of our members and celebrating what makes Filipino culture special. During this event, we invite the entire Bloomington community including IU students, staff, and family, as well as other Filipino-American student organizations from across the Midwest.

2024 THEME:

Tayo Ay Isang Pamilya - “We are one FAAmily”

Every year, Filipino Culture Night has a theme that we feel represents the Filipino American experience. Our theme this year is “Tayo Ay Isang Pamilya” which roughly translates to “We are one Family” as Filipinos are known to be family oriented. As we continue to grow as an organization we bring together people from many different backgrounds, experiences, and cultures, yet we are bonded by the community we find amongst one another. Not only do we celebrate Filipino heritage, culture, and tradition but share it with others and welcome everyone with open arms. Family is one of the most important aspects of Filipino culture, bringing everyone together in celebration. Everyone has their individual story and differences, but what makes this organization a family is every person’s unique qualities.
